The herd of thirteen Shetland ponies are favourites with guests! This is Josh our stallion, who will be 20 years old next April and is the head of the herd. The Shetland originates from the Shetlands Islands with heavy double coats and short legs, they are an intelligent, very strong breed of pony. Josh is the kindest, gentlest stallion you could meet and adores being brushed and fussed over at the children’s pony grooming.
During the winter time the goats, just like us, like to keep nice and toasty warm. In the barns, we place extra insulation inside to keep all the drafts out!
However, there is one little treat that the goats love all year round and that’s the goat brush for a good old scratch!
The fields are quiet and we have a beautiful flock of black pheasants on the farm who are making themselves at home discovering all the left-over corn and berries.
